Raymond D. Joudy

Raymond D. Joudy, 68, of 18 Fox Tail Lane, Brookfield, husband of Sandra J. (Koment) Joudy, died on September 17 at Danbury Hospital. He is survived by a daughter, Doreen Helstern and her husband, Gary, of Newtown.

Mr Joudy was born in Danbury, March 2, 1933, a son of the late Jack L. and Annie (Binns) Joudy. He attended Danbury schools and Danbury High School.

A lifelong area resident, he had resided in Brookfield for the past 30 years.

He was a drywall contractor with Joudy Drywall Company.

A US Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of Lebanon American Club of Danbury, the Home Builders Association, and of the Walnut Hill Community Church of Bethel.

Mr and Mrs Joudy would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on October 29.

In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by two sons, Leonard J. Joudy of Orlando, Fla., and Scott R. Joudy of Danbury; a brother, Robert A. Joudy of New Fairfield; a sister, Irene M. Gustavson of Indialantic, Fla.; a granddaughter, Stephanie Helstern; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services took place on September 20 in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Avenue, Danbury, with Pastor Joel Eidsness of the Walnut Hill Community Church officiating.

Burial followed in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.
