School Curriculums Get Their Yearly Summer Inspection
School Curriculums Get Their Yearly Summer Inspection

Over the summer about 150 to 200 teachers were involved in reevaluating the curriculums for all of the Newtown Schools, according to Superintendent of Schools Janet Robinson.
She said the primary focus was on the high school, but curriculums from all of the schools were looked at in detail. Not all curriculums were looked at, because they are on a rotating schedule for reevaluation.
âIt was a little more involved this summer,â said Dr Robinson. She said teachers help to go over the curriculums every summer to ensure they are up to date, but this year there was a greater emphasis on getting it done.
Slightly more teachers were involved this summer than in previous summers.
Inspecting the curriculums also help to keep the text books for those classes up to date, according to Dr Robinson.
âWe are really looking closely to make sure the classes are rigorous for the students,â said Dr Robinson.
