SCAN Spring Show To Open

This Weekend At Library

The Annual Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN), Inc. Spring Juried Art Show will be presented at Cyrenius H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street in Newtown, from Saturday, June 9, until Sunday, June 16.

This exhibit, which is celebrating its 42nd anniversary, will be open for visitors during regular library hours: Monday through Thursday, 9:30 am to 8 pm; Friday, 11 am to 5 pm; Saturday, 9:30 am to 5 pm; and Sunday, noon to 5 pm.

Some of the finest traditional as well as contemporary artists will be exhibiting their works in oils, pastels, watercolors, acrylics, mixed media, graphics and sculpture. Over $1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded during the opening reception on Sunday, June 10.

The reception will run on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm, with awards to be announced at 3. The jury of selection and awards includes Diane Dubreuil, Edward Martinez and Peter Seltzer.
