Where Is Our Highway Department?

To the Editor:

Our winding and narrow neighborhood roads are overgrown with weeds, thorns, and poison ivy that make it dangerous for walkers; it has become impossible to step aside for approaching cars, it also has become a problem for our cars trying to avoid getting scratched up. Stop signs are overgrown with weeds and some of our intersections have their view lines quite diminished by the heavy overgrowth.

The town used to take care of this during springtime; it is now almost the end of the summer season and nothing has been done. What are our taxes paying for?  The potholes are patched up so badly and bumpy, one needs an organ transplant trying to navigate these roads. Orchard Hill Road, Brushy Hill Road, and Platts Hill Road are one of them amongst many others. What is the problem this year?
