Bill Gerhard Jonsson, 57, of Wilton, formerly of Dodgingtown Antiques, died on November 26 after a long battle with cancer.
A native of Stockholm, Sweden, Mr Jonsson came to this country in 1962 and worked in New York City as an importer of wood products for a large Japanese trading company.
For the past 12 years he was active as an antiques dealer, exhibiting in many of the major shows in the Northeast. He owned the Southport Antiques Market for several years and currently maintained a booth at the Antique and Artisans Center in Stamford.
He is survived by his partner and longtime companion, Thomas Bellantoni, also of Wilton; two sisters, Anita (Jonsson) Chane of Schenectady, N.Y.; and Janine Jonsson of Stockholm, Sweden; an uncle; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 21, at 11 am, at St Michael Lutheran Church, 5 Oenoke Ridge, New Canaan.
