Wildcats 4, Cheetahs 1: The Wildcatsâ offense was led by Kaley Meisenheimer with 2 goals, and Morgan Seras and Collen Phaneuf who had a goal each. Laura Augenbraun played tough defense both on the field and in the goal. Shauna Tucker and Gabriella Sadowski played well on offense and defense. For the Cheetahs, Mary Sortino led the offense with a goal. Zoe Bogan also played well offensively. Olivia Ortran and Jane Shearin had great games on both sides of the ball.

Shooting Stars 3, American Eagles 1: For the Shooting Stars, Simone Paradis scored two goals and Janyce Toth scored one. Grainne Flanagan played well on offense and defense and Ally Toth had a tremendous game as goalkeeper. Riley Mulligan led the offense for the American Eagles with a goal. Olivia Hage played well on both sides of the field and Emily Winch and Lucy Scarangella anchored the defense with strong games.
Fighting Irish 3, Team Four 2: For the Fighting Irish, Jenna Lavelle, Grace Corcoran and Alison Kelleher all scored goals. Heidi Poarch was a force on both sides of the ball and Catharina Hyeon was outstanding on defense.Â
Lightning 4, Monkees 2: Emma Boland and Sophia Andrea scored for the Monkees. Abby Clarke and Nathalie Schickendantz had strong all around performances. Quinn Karp and Sarah Tressler scored early for the Lightning and Maddie Zipperstein and Kaitlyn Reilly added a goal apiece. Haley Harkins made 4 saves in goal.
T-Jags 3, Dynamites 1: For the T-Jags, Bella Jimenez put in one goal and Alexis Mason scored twice. Lindsay Merrifield played well offensively while Greta Staubly played well defensively and Tess Hubbard was great in goal. Sarah Houle scored for the Dynamites, while Veronica Vodola and Catherine Shaw played well on offense. Dani Gaiser was strong on defense and Savannah Mather played a great overall game.
U10
Lightning Bolts 5, Crushers 1: For the Crushers, Jessica Cruz scored the lone goal. With no substitutes, Emily Booth, Alex Ferris and Grace Walter all played great the entire game. For the Lightning Bolts, Allison Indelicato scored 2 goals and Marina Renzi, Gemma Hyeon, Emma Schmid-Tharnish each added on a goal.
Crushers 4, Lightning 1: For the Crushers, Madison Pirone scored a pair of goals and Amanda Albanesi and Julia Doyle each added a goal. Elizabeth Zambernardi and Claire Beiter played great all around games. Sydney Johnson scored the Lightning goal. Morgan Goldstein and Brianna MacDonald played solid all around games and Alexi Badick played well in goal.

Lightning 5, Suffield 0 (State Cup game): The Lightning dominated in a shutout of Suffield, preventing their opponents from taking a single shot on goal. Megan Meyer scored two goals, including one on a free kick and Dale Shearin, Sarah Lynch and Kelsey Muniz scored one apiece. The Newtown girls displayed excellent passing and teamwork throughout the game, with standout performances by Shearin in the midfield and Megan Weber on offense. Siena Cicarelli anchored the defense with good support from Helene Sorensen.Â
Lightning 3, Greenwich 0: Sarah Lynch had the first goal for the Lightning after a scramble in front of the net, then Megan Meyer scored two in a row from long range to seal the win. Meaghan Brophy and Meg Korchman were solid on defense and Amy Martinelli had good moves in the midfield. Keepers Kate Fallon and Emily Riley handled the nets for the Lightning.

Smiters 3, Cyclones 0: Goals for the Smiters were scored by Michaela Guinee, Rachel Karnoff and Claire Miles, while Maddie Aug had a great performance in goal to keep the Cyclones scoreless. The Cyclones competed well with Lauren Meyer and Gerlayn Klein playing well up front. Sara Lampel competed with great energy at midfield.
Norwalk 1, Flash 1: Despite several goal attempts and a shot on goal by Kyra Murray, Newtown Flash fell short. Meaghan Harkins and Lyndsey Pearlman were strong for the Flash. Great efforts were made by Katie Shirley and Julia Trudell. Kelly Brooks played well and Emily Brisson made several blocks.

U6
Team 9 Sharks 4, Fireballs 1: Nick Preszler had a great running game while Connor Haywood and Sachin Mansukhani (goaltender) stayed tough on the defensive end. Rohan Manskhani was a standout for the Fireballs on offense. The Sharks played a strong game with Thomas Armstrong scoring 2 goals. Jake Pare and Tucker Depuy both scored a goal. Also playing well for Sharks were Brett Pierce, Ethan Romano, Wright Frost and Jackson Reinhart.
LightningThunder vs Eagles: Tristen Andrew led the offense with his first goal of the season for LightningThunder. .Jack Stanton and Morgan Main also played well on offense. Grant Horn and Chris Shaker led a strong defensive effort for the LightningThunder. The Eagles had strong offense by Aidan Finnegan, Ethan Correia and Stephen Sedenski. Charlie Eppers, Max Hanson, and Chase Yeaton led the defense for the Eagles

Blue Sharks 1, Cyclones 1: For the Cyclones, Layton Harrell scored and Ryan Nolan and Robert DiSibio provided strong offense. The defense was led by Nate Torre-Tasso and Thomas Phaneuf with great goalkeeping by Jack McDonnell. For the Blue Sharks, Jack Hanley scored and Henry Vaughan was solid on offense.Max Bloomquist played a great game in goal.Â

Newtown Strikers 1, Trumbull United Hurricanes 1: Jonathan Guilherme headed the ball into the net off of a pass from Cole Rogalin for Newtownâs goal. Trumbull went on to tie the game despite strong defensive efforts from Josh Houle and Tyler Dullinger. Ryan Kiss and Thomas Gavel led the offense, while Alex Gerbo played well for the Strikers at both ends of the field.

Strikerz 3, âThe The Golden Toastersâ 2: For The The Golden Toasters (yes there are 2 thes the coach confirmed), Jared Wray and Jake Moore each scored a goal. Dan Toby was excellent on defense and Otto Kerler had a good game in goal. For the Strikerz, Ivan Hutchison scored twice and Charlie Poarch added a goal to lead the offense. Tyler Lenox and Rui Teixeira played great defense and Mike Stierle was excellent in goal.
Italian Stallions 3, ManU 1: For the Italian Stallions, Evan Swain scored 2 goals and Tim Kelly added another. Josh Tuffy and Ricky Fuentes played great at midfield. For ManU, Gavin Scallon scored a goal and Miguel Rodriguez and Noah Orakwue played well at the striker positions. On defense, Joseph Anastasi played hard.
The Oskars 2, Strikerz 1: Dan Olszewski scored to lead the Oskars to the win with great help from Brandon Unger. Ryan Pisani and Tommy Shaker anchored the defense while Eric Pisani played an outstanding game in goal, including saving one penalty kick. Mike Senf scored the goal for the Strikerz with a good offensive game by Tom Cassin. Peter Mihol played an excellent game at midfield, Austin Isola anchored the defense and John Narducci played a good overall game.
Toasters 6, Beast 5: Richard Greenwood scored 3 goals, Jake Moore, Otto Kerler and Justin Germack each had a goal and Bobby Silver played well for the Toasters. For the Beast, Matt Rosa scored 2 and Tyler Coleman, Eathan Perkus and Ryan Moyer each scored. Sam Boland was excellent at stopper.
Cobras 2, Stratford 1 (Cup Game): The Cobras advanced by defeating the defending Cup champion. Kieran Lardner scored the first goal, set up by Matt Rahtelli. Patrick Riccardi netted the second, assisted by Pieter Martino. Colin Moller, Tyler Ruefenacht and Sam Langdon all had solid games in the midfield. Sean Elliott had an outstanding game with several acrobatic saves. Rob Willis, Francis Saraceni and Alec Lockhart led the defensive line, constantly frustrating the opponent.
Norwalk 1, Cobras 0: In unusually windy and cold conditions, the Cobras played hard but fell short on a fluke goal. Defensively, Francis Saraceni, Matt Rahtelli and Yoshi Kohrman-Glaser were impenetrable. Midfielders Stephen Conway, Noah Sock, Colin Moller and Nick Gerbo controlled tempo and created opportunities for the forwards. Mergim Bajraliu and Ian Solaski played aggressively as forwards.
