Annual Church Barbecue

ROXBURY — On Saturday, August 23, from 5:30 to 7 pm, Roxbury Congregational Church will hold its 41st Annual Beef Barbeque on the church lawn, at 24 Church Street.

More than 60 volunteers are getting ready for the big event, which will offer dinners of choice beef roasted over a charcoal pit, fresh-picked corn, baked potatoes, homemade coleslaw, and fresh-baked bread.

Dinner is topped off with “make your own sundaes” with homemade hot fudge and butterscotch sauces, or homemade cookies, and hot coffee, iced tea and lemonade.

Admission is $11 for adults, $8.50 for high school students, $6.50 for most children, and free for preschool-age children. Reservations are encouraged but walk-ins are welcome. For reservations or additional information call 860-355-1870.
