Police took possession on May 6 of a bicycle that was found at the townâs Bridge End Farm Lane baseball field in Sandy Hook. The owner may contact police at 426-5841 to claim the bicycle.
Camera Found
On May 15, police took possession of a Pentax-brand camera that was found in the Treadwell Park area. The owner may contact Sergeant Darlene Froehlich at the police station to claim the camera.

Parking Violation
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Robert A. Parenteau, Jr, 44, of Wolcott turned himself over to police on May 16 and was charged with failure to respond to an infraction and with violating the townâs vehicle parking ordinance. Parenteau had been issued a ticket for a parking violation in the past, but he did not responded to the ticket, police said.
Police released Parenteau on $37 bail for a June 2 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Swamp Road Crash
Motorist Lisa Briand, 27, of Monroe was driving a 1999 Hyundai Accent sedan southward on Swamp Road about 1 am May 17, when a deer ran into the street, so Briand swerved to avoid it, but she struck a utility pole along the northbound road shoulder, police said.
Briand receive a bruise from her seatbelt, police said. Police issued her an infraction ticket for failure to drive to the right.
Honda Hits Pole
Motorist Lisandro Caraballo, 25, of Bridgeport was driving a 1989 Honda Civic eastward on Old Hawleyville Road about 4:30 pm May 8, when Caraballo attempted to pick up an object that had fallen onto the autoâs floor, police said. The Honda veered off the street and struck a utility pole along the right road shoulder, police said.
Caraballo was not injured. Police issued Caraballo an infraction ticket for making a restricted turn.
Route 25 Accident
Motorist Judith Schultz, 41, of 62 Old Hawleyville Road was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer northward on Route 25 at about 5:30 pm May 14, when she stopped for traffic and was struck from behind by motorist Howard Canfield, 32, of Danbury, who was driving a 1986 Chevrolet pickup truck, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Canfield a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Broken Glass
Sometime between May 7 and the morning of May 10, someone broke some light bulbs and scattered the broken glass at the Newtown Congregational Churchâs playground at 41-A Main Street, police said. Police ask anyone with information on the incident to contact them at 270-8888.
Ford Vs Isuzu
Motorist Katherine Strong, 44, of Redding, who was driving a 1999 Isuzu Grand Vitara, stopped for a red traffic signal on Sugar Street at its intersection with South Main Street about 12:11 pm May 10, police said.
Strong then drove forward and stopped to look for oncoming traffic, after which the Isuzu was struck from behind by motorist Dilma Almeida, 48, of Naugatuck, who was driving a 1995 Ford Windstar, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Almeida an infraction ticket for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Mirror-To-Mirror
Motorist Richard Lapati, 38, of 10 Johnny Appleseed Drive, was driving a 2001 Ford dump truck southward on Toddy Hill Road at about 2:30 pm May 12, as motorist Frederick Ludwig, 21, of Southbury, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet van northward there, police said.
As the two vehicles were driving in opposite directions on a narrow, curving section of the street, their left-side exterior mirrors collided, police said. Both drivers received facial cuts, police said.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Lapati to Danbury Hospital. Ludwig refused hospital transport. The accident is under investigation.
Underage Alcohol
Police report they charged two underage youths with illegal possession of alcohol by a minor on the night of May 14 on Townâs End Road. The road is in the southwestern corner of town, near Newtownâs borders with Redding and Easton.
Police said that while on patrol, they found Ashley Ferris, 16, of 33 Pole Bridge Road, and John Gill, 17, of 10 Maple Drive in possession of alcohol, so they charged both youths.
The two youths were socializing with other youths, police said. The area is a gathering spot for local youths, police said.
Police released Ferris and Gill for May 27 appearances in Danbury Superior Court.
I-84 Ramp Crash
State police report a two-vehicle accident at the end of Interstate 84âs eastbound Exit 9 off-ramp about 2 pm May 14. Motorist Mary Al-Akhdar, 39, of Danbury, who was driving a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan, came to a stop at the end of the ramp and was struck from behind by motorist Dwayne Ellis, 22, of New Milford, who was driving a 1998 Honda Civic, state police said.
There were no injuries. State police issued Ellis a written warning for following too closely.

Truck Hits Object
Motorist Richard Ferraro, 37, of Bethany was driving a 2002 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck eastward on Interstate 84, about 2,500 feet west of Exit 10, about 7:30 pm May 11, when the truck struck a piece of metal debris in the road, state police report. Ferraro was not injured. No enforcement action was taken.
Honda Vs Saturn
Police report that motorist Rita Kelley, 59, of Nunnawauk Road, who was driving a 2003 Saturn Ion sedan westward on Wasserman Way, signaled, stopped, and waited for eastbound traffic to pass to allow the Saturn to make a left turn onto Nunnawauk Road at about 5 pm May 11, when the Saturn was struck from behind by westbound motorist Frederick Mundorff, 62, of Ridgefield, who was driving a 2002 Honda Accord. There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Mundorff for following too closely.
Ford Vs Ford
Motorist John Zulli, 36, of 42 Riverside Road, who was driving a 1997 Ford westward on Riverside Road about 7:15 pm May 17, attempted to pull into his homeâs driveway and was struck from behind by westbound motorist Todd Adams, 24, of 26 Buttonball Drive, who was driving a 1997 Ford, police said.
Zulli experienced injuries, but declined medical treatment, police said. Adams received an infraction ticket for following too closely, police said.
Burglary/Larceny
Police report they are investigating a burglary/larceny which occurred sometime on May 14 or 15 at a Pebble Road residence. The burglar entered the residence and stole many electronic devices, police said. Police ask anyone with information about the crime to contact them at 426-5841, or at 270-8888.
Warrant Issued
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Steven Santaniello, 21, of 2 Fox Hollow Lane turned himself over to police on May 19 and was charged with failure to respond to an infraction and also with violating the townâs parking ordinance, police said.
Police said that Santaniello had not responded to a parking ticket that they issued to him on February 16. Police released Santaniello on $37 bail for a June 3 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Main Street Accident
Police report a two-vehicle accident on Main Street in front of Newtown General Store about 6:20 am May 19.
Southbound motorist Nicholas Kraich, 19, of 17 Sawmill Ridge Road, who was driving a 1995 Saab 900 four-door hatchback, slowed and then stopped to turn right into a parking space in front of the store, police said.
As the Saab was making the right turn, a 1994 Chevrolet van driven by Carmen Salinas-Ordonez, 37, of Springfield, Va, which had been traveling behind the Saab, passed the Saab on the right, resulting in a collision, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Salinas-Ordonez a written warning for passing on the right.
