Vote Intelligently

To the Editor:

This is not about whom I want you to vote for, this is about how we as American citizens pick our President and all elected government officials. Between the social media, the conventions on TV, inaccurate polls etc... being full of so much positive and negative information on the candidates in the upcoming election.

I can only hope that we as Americans are smart enough to see through the smoke and mirrors that party hardliners put out there. Whether you are a liberal Democrat, conservative Republican, moderate or an independent or no affiliation at all, please do not be not be influenced by someone in California and Hollywood saying how we should vote. Do they know what is good for you? The reality is probably no; we live in different worlds miles apart. We are intelligent people raised and educated in the greatest country with all the freedoms to speak and vote any way we want. I just hope that the American citizen casts a vote that counts. Think about what issues are important to you whether it is the economy, health care, foreign policy, taxes etc... Which candidate’s promises will benefit us the American citizen, you personally, our community, and our country. We all know what JFK said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.”

Right now in this country the most important things you can do for your country is vote, and vote intelligently. If you do not vote then do not complain. As an American citizen it should be an honor and a privilege to vote. If you are not an American citizen and cannot vote then obviously you cannot have any complaints.
