Driving Violations
Police report that at about 11:23 pm on March 9, they stopped motorist Jullian Brivett, 33, of Bridgeport near 116 South Main Street to investigate because she had not kept to the right side of the road while driving.
Police said they then charged Brivett with failure to drive to the right and with driving with a suspended license. Police released Brivett on a written promise to appear March 24 in Danbury Superior Court.
Marijuana
Police said they responded to a complaint concerning a suspicious motor vehicle on Bishop Circle in Sandy Hook on the afternoon of March 10.
The motorist in question, David Hyde, 18, of 3 Owl Ridge Lane, was stopped for an investigation, after which he was charged with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, police said.
Police released Hyde on a written promise to appear March 23 in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charge.
Alcohol Case
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, George Vincent Collins, 20, of 2 Melody Lane, went to the police station late on the morning of March 12 and was charged with failure to respond to an infraction.
Police said they had issued Collins an infraction on a charge of illegal possession of alcohol by a minor last August 12, but Collins had not responded to that ticket, so they obtained a warrant for his arrest. That ticket carries a $136 fine.
After processing, police released Collins on $136 bail for a March 25 court appearance.
Town Truck
While working on Pootatuck Trail on the morning of March 11, George Mattern, 55, of Brookfield, who was driving a town-owned 2007 Volvo dump truck, raised the dumper box on the back of the truck to dump some earthen material on the road for repair work, police said.
Because Mattern was unaware of the clearance limits of such an action, the dumper box struck a telephone service line that provides telephone service to 23 Pootatuck Trail, police said.
The telephone line thus was pulled loose from the house, damaging the houseâs exterior, police said. There were no injuries. Police took no enforcement.
SUV Vs Sedan
About 6:46 am on March 8, motorist Michele Williams, 55, of 92 Head Oâ Meadow Road, who was driving a 2005 Honda Pilot SUV northward on Head Oâ Meadow Road, stopped at a stop sign at its intersection with Sugar Street (Route 302), police said.
At that time, motorist Brian Leonard, 37, of Bethel was driving a 2010 Subaru Legacy sedan eastward on Sugar Street, police said.
The Honda then attempted to cross Sugar Street to reach the section of Head Oâ Meadow Road on the opposite side Sugar Street, resulting in a collision with the Subaru, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they gave Williams a written warning for failure to grant the right of way.
Interstate 84
State police report they stopped Fabien Patrick Cloutier, 46, of 11 Dayton Street on eastbound Interstate 84, near Exit 9, about 1:49 pm March 14, because the commercial dump truck that Cloutier was driving had a cracked tail lamp.
State police said Cloutier provided them with three different identities, after which they determined that he had provided them with the identity of one of his relatives.
State police charged Cloutier with criminal impersonation and with interfering with police. State police said they learned that Wilton police were holding a pending warrant for Cloutier originating from past motor vehicle violations in Wilton.
State police said they took Cloutier into custody without incident. Cloutier was being held on bail on March 16 in the Bridgeport Correctional Center for upcoming court appearances.
Slippery Highway
State police said motorist Benjamin Gallant, 21, of Leominster, Mass., was driving a 2007 Honda Civic sedan westward on Interstate 84 in left lane of three lanes, just east of Exit 10, about 8:39 pm March 12, when the vehicle skidded on the wet pavement and struck some metal-bean guardrailing.
Neither Gallant, nor two passengers were injured, state police said. Gallant received a wri
tten warning for traveling too fast for conditions, state police said.
Warrant
After learning that police held a warrant for him, Matthew Leone, 44, of Milford went to the police station on the morning of March 13 and turned himself over to police who charged him with failure to have automotive insurance, police said.
The charges stem from an automobile accident that occurred on the evening of January 17 on Berkshire Road, near its intersection with Bennetts Bridge Road, according to police. After the accident, police charged Leone with driving under the influence and with making a restricted turn. Those two charges are still pending in court.
Following processing on March 13, police released Leone on a written promise to appear in court on the insurance charge on March 26.
Sugar Street Rollover
Motorist Aitor Alberdi, 28, of Bethel was driving a 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage coupe westward in rainy conditions near 101 Sugar Street (Route 302) at about 3:26 am March 14, when he lost control of the auto, drove off the eastbound road shoulder, struck a tree and spun around, with the auto coming to rest on its right side, police report.
Alberdi was not injured. Police said they issued Alberdi an infraction on charges including a travel lane violation.
Wasserman Way
Police report a two-vehicle accident on Wasserman Way, near the entrance to the commuter parking lot for Exit 11 of Interstate 84, at about 7:10 am March 15.
Motorist Brian White, 17, of 69 Charter Ridge Drive was driving a 2009 Hyundai Tucson SUV westward on Wasserman Way, police said.
At that time, motorist Richard Maguire, 41, of Waterford was driving a 2006 Volvo S-60 sedan eastward on Wasserman Way and was passing other eastbound vehicles on the right while driving in an area that is not a travel lane, police said.
As the Hyundai attempted to make a left turn into the parking lot, it collided with the Volvo, police said. There were no injuries.
Police said they issued White a written warning for making a restricted turn. Police issued Maguire a written warning for passing on the right.
Russett Road
Motorist Aaron Lengel, 19, of West Street was driving a 2004 Ford pickup truck eastward near 14 Russett Road about 6:42 pm March 13, when a deer entered the street and collided with the truck, after which the deer ran off, police said.
Lengel was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
DUI Warrant
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Daniel Garvin, 31, of Bridgeport went to the police station on the afternoon of March 17 and was charged with driving under the influence and with making a restricted turn.
Police said the charges stem from a December 7 one-car accident in which Garvin was driving a 2002 Mazda Protégé sedan near 139 Poverty Hollow Road which then struck a utility pole.
On March 17, police released Garvin on $250 bail for a March 31 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
