Jane Elizabeth Polley

Jane Elizabeth (Wilkins) Polley, 70, of Nunnawauk Road, Newtown, died peacefully at her home on April 3.

Jane was born in Jacksonville, Fla., January 9, 1933, daughter of the late Marion Kenneth Wilkins and the late Elizabeth (Orrie) Bass.

She was a devoted mother to seven children, Beth, Lynne, Ralph, Howie, Kenny, Dave, and Mark; and beloved grandmother of nine grandchildren, Ralph, Jr, Nicholas, Rebecca, Sara, Grace, Mike, Ken, Jr, Zachary, and Katie; sister, Lynne; two brothers, Ken and Sandy; and her former husband, Howard M. Polley, of Danbury.

Jane had worked for General Electric and Marcus Dairy in Danbury and had also been a professional photographer for 15 years. She was also known by her children as the world’s greatest cook.

Memorial services were held at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, on April 6.
