Maria Kowarick of Newtown has been named to the Dean’s list for the fall semester at Nichols College in Dudley, Mass.

Kali Alise Santarpia, a 2002 Newtown High School graduate, earned a 4.0 and has been placed on the Dean’s List for the fall semester at Towson University in Towson, Md. Kali is the daughter of Anita R. Holtz and stepdaughter of David C. Dickerson of Sandy Hook.

A senior at the Honors College at Towson, Kali is the recipient of the Towson University Provost Scholarship, which recognizes outstanding academic and civic potential. A gerontology major, Kali is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and was inducted into the Sigma Phi Omega Honor Society. Additionally she is a member of Towson’s chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha.
