TV Violence Workshop

American children watch an average of three to four hours of television daily. TV can be a powerful influence in developing value systems and shaping behavior. On Tuesday, February 20, the Family Counseling Center, a nonprofit mental health agency serving the Greater Danbury area, will present a free workshop on children and TV violence.

The workshop will be presented by Merry Frons, LCSW, and will cover how parents can protect their children from excessive TV violence and how to deal with exposure to disturbing current events in the news. The workshops, one of a series of free monthly workshops sponsored by Union Savings Bank, will be held in the Community Meeting Room of the C.H. Booth Library, Main Street, Newtown, from 7 to 8:30 pm.

For more information, or to receive a brochure listing all of the Family Counseling Center’s workshops, please call the Center at 426-8103.
