NHS Girls’ Basketball Team Reaches State Championship Game

Newtown High School’s girls’ basketball team, with a win over Hillhouse of New Haven in the semifinals on March 9, reached the state championship game. It marks the first time in the program’s history, according to NHS Athletic Director Gregg Simon, that a Newtown girls’ squad advanced to the pinnacle game. The Nighthawks will compete for a Class LL title this weekend.
