Caring Volunteers!
Caring Volunteers!
To the Editor:
Many thanks to the volunteers and donors involved in the 15th annual United Way of Western Connecticutâs Days of Caring. We had a great show of support in Newtown as employees from Union Savings Bank completed projects at Childrenâs Adventure Center in Sandy Hook.
Overall this year, more than 650 volunteers from about 30 companies took part in a variety of projects that included painting, gardening, cleaning, and even party planning. Over 50 agencies benefited from the work, and in addition to Danbury, volunteers completed projects in Newtown, Bethel, Brookfield, Kent, New Fairfield, New Milford, and Ridgefield.
Through their participation, each and every volunteer learned firsthand about the organizations that provide important human services to our community throughout the year.
Our thanks to the local companies that recognize the value of supporting their employees in this effort!
