Beloved Wife And Mother

Dorothy “Gram” Smith Blakeman, 77, of Oxford, beloved wife of the late Philip S. Blakeman, Jr, died January 25. She was born May 31, 1931, in Monroe to Henry James and Hazel Scriven Smith.

Mrs Blakeman is survived by 12 children; a brother; and two sisters, including Sarah Simpson of Newtown, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs Blakeman enjoyed bird watching and the Professional Bull Riding.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 31, at 2 pm, in the American Legion Post 174, 43 Oxford Road, Oxford. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in East Village Cemetery, Monroe, at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour.
