Sunday, October 5 â The Lewisboro Horsemanâs Association Fall Country Pace will be held Sunday, October 5, from 8 am to 12 noon, at the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River, New York. Sunday, October 12 â The Greenwich Riding and Trails Association will hold its Fall Pace on Sunday, October 12, 8 am to 12 noon, at the Hughes/Wonham Field in Greenwich. Lunch will be at 12:30 pm and ribbons will be awarded when all riders are in. There will be Hunt, Pleasure, Junior and Western Divisions. Sunday, October 26 â The Newtown Bridle Lands Association will hold its Frost on the Pumpkin Pace on Sunday, October 26, 8 am to 12 noon, at Mount Nebo Road. A buffet lunch will be held from 11 am to 2 pm. Entries close on October 22, or when pace is full. Early registrations are recommended. Sunday, October 5 â Brushy Hill Farm in Southbury will hold its fourth and final schooling show on Sunday, October 5, at the farm on Coachmanâs Drive. There will be Micro, Walk/Trot, Short Stirrup, Green Hunter, Low Hunter, Suitable Hunter, Equitation, Adult and Pleasure classes. The show will be held rain or shine. Monday, October 13 â The Fairfield Bridle Trails Association will hold its annual Hunter Trials Horse Show on Monday, October 13, on the Taylor/Weeks property at 889 Hulls Highway in Southport. This year the high point champions in both the Junior and Adult divisions will be awarded wool coolers. Also new this year will be the presentation of the Foggy Dew Perpetual Trophy, awarded for the highest points in the Adult Pleasure Division. Anne Wokanovicz has donated the trophy in memory of her horse, Foggy Dew, who died last winter at the age of 32. Junior classes will begin at 8:30 am and adult classes will not begin before 1 pm. Entries will be accepted on the day of the show. Fees are $10 per class for juniors and $15 per class for adults. Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be available. There will be parking on the property at at nearby Wakenmanâs Lake. Large vans are to park at the Fairfield Hunt Club. Sunday, November 9 â The Woodbury FFA will host its annual Hunter Pace on Sunday, November 9,. The event is open to teams of riders and is designed to simulate a traditional foxhunt. All proceeeds will benefit the Woodbury FFA, a national agricultural youth leadership organization associated with the Agri-Science program at Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury. There will be Hack (slower) and Hunt (faster) divisions that will be divided into junior and senior entries. Cost is $50 for seniors and $40 for juniors under 18. Special awards for Best Matched Pair, Turtle Team, Youngest Rider, Family Award, and highest-placing 4-H, FFA and Pony Club teams will be presented.
