A Glimpse Of Fall ‘04

At Blue-Gold Game

With Division I prospect Dan Cascone wreaking havoc in the trenches, the Newtown High School football team could be a formidable defensive force in the 2004 season and fans – a nice contingent that showed up for the game – got a glimpse of that last Friday at the annual Blue-Gold Scrimmage. In fact, it was almost all defense last Friday as quarterbacks Josh Rouse and Tucker Kass took their licks trying to move their respective teams down the field and punters Marc Ingerman and Brendan O’Connor gave their right legs a good work out. The 2004 season opens on September 11 at Pomperaug.

Next, the Nighthawk Football Association will hold its annual Football Development Camp July 12-18 at Hawley School (9am to 12 noon each day) ... open to all Pop Warner eligible players. The focus will be the fundamentals and basic techniques of the game, which will include skill and contact drills. The final day will feature scrimmages (based on age) and a pizza party. Call 270-1917 for further information or email mwheeler@nighthawkfootball.com.
