St Rose Track & Field Team Improves To 5-1
The St Rose Track & Field improved to 5-1 at its second meet of the season this past weekend. St Rose (456 points) out-dueled St Maryâs of Ridgefield (452 points) and handily beat St Josephâs of Danbury (231 points). St Rose suffered its only loss of the season to St Maryâs of Bethel (1,061 points). More than 300 students participated in the meet.
Gold medal winners included: Molly Begg (1600 meters & 800), Madeline Meier (100 & softball throw), Hans Reelick (50), Rebecca Racz (long jump), Kayla Ondy (softball throw), and Joey Rios (softball throw).
Silver Medal winners included: Molly Begg (long jump), Bridget Duero (400, 800, and softball throw), Rosie Simms (400), Joey Rios (200), AJ Vitiello (800), Rebecca Racz (200), Ashling Sugarman (200), Ryan McNerney (200), and Rios, Sedensky, McKenzie, McNerney (3rd/4th grade boys relay).
Bronze medal winners included: Anna Brubaker (100 & 200), Haley Ryan (200), Connor McNerney (400 & 1600), Brady, Ryan, McNulty, Duero (7th/8th girls relay), Ludanyi, Meier, Sun, Cassetta (5th/6th girls relay ), and Ondy, Hufschmied, DeSpagna, Jimenez (3rd/4th girls relay).
Others who performed well for St Rose included: Annika Brady, Mark Kendziorski, Sabrina Capodicci, Daniel DeBartolomeo, Zach Demeglio, Jeremy Fisher, Cate Herrick, Cameron Reichenbach, Rebeca Walsh, Christopher Beal, Evan Doering, Will Caron, and Francesca Coppola.
The season-ending Parochial League championship meet will be Sunday, May 22 at 1 pm at Immaculate High School in Danbury.
