Zoo Seeking Art From High School Students For Competition

BRIDGEPORT — Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo is inviting students in grades 9 through 12 statewide to enter its 9th Annual High School Wildlife Art Show and Contest.

Artwork must be the contestant’s original, hand-made creation in the following media: watercolor, acrylic, tempera, charcoal, pastels, chalk, colored pencil, graphite, or pen & ink. Entries are due at the zoo by 4 pm on Monday, April 9, and must remain in the zoo’s art show until mid-May. All entrants will receive a free Family Pass to the zoo and will be invited to the opening reception on April 21. Three winners will each receive a gift certificate to an art supply store.

Entry forms are available by calling 203-394-6563, visiting BeardsleyZoo.org (the form will be online in early February), or stopping by the Zoo’s Welcome Center.
