Good Friend Bowling Fundraiser

NEW MILFORD — It’s time to dust off those bowling shoes and join Good Friend for its second annual Bowl with Friends fundraising event on April 25. The event will take place at Lore’s Lanes, 145-D Danbury Road/Route 7, from 10 am to 4 pm.

Good Friends, which provides carefully screened volunteer mentors for children ages 7–14 in the greater Danbury area, is currently looking for sponsors and people to form teams.

“This isn’t your typical fundraiser,” said program supervisor Erin Simmons. “With the music and glow bowl it’s more of a party. The more teams we have the more fun it will be.”

Teams consisting of five people are registered with Good Friend. Each team member is required to raise a minimum of $50. Each participant will receive a T-shirt, a coupon to redeem at the snack bar, and raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes donated by local businesses.

Prizes will be awarded to the overall participant who raises the most in pledges and a price for the under 18 participant who raises the most in pledges.

Sponsorship opportunities are available in the form of company bowls, lane sponsorships, and the 2009 Bowl with Friends Title Sponsor.

“It’s not about bowling,” stresses Ms Simmons. “It’s about helping kids.”

Along with bowling, other festivities include glow bowl, a DJ, and a 50/50 raffle.
