Debra Ann S. Turek

Debra Ann (Self) Turek, 43, of Hillsborough, N.J., after a courageous battle, died June 29 at Princeton Medical Center, among her loving family and friends.

Mrs Turek was born June 21, 1959, in New Rochelle, N.Y., daughter of Rosemarie and the late Eugene Self. She was raised in Brookfield, and lived in Tustin, Calif., for 13 years, then in Hillsborough, N.J., since 1991.

Mrs Turek was a devoted mother and active professional who was heavily involved in her community and faith. She was an insurance underwriter at Allstate, where she worked 16 years. She served as the former secretary of both the SOCAL Aquatic League Swim Team and the Hillsborough Little League. She served on the Hillsborough Credit Card program benefiting local nonprofit organizations.

In addition to her husband Jim, of 24 years, she is survived by her loving children, Jason and Ashley; mother, Rosemarie Sturino Self; sisters and spouses, Adrienne and Ken Ventresca, all of New Milford, and Erica and Marc Benedetti of Haverhill, Mass.; and nephews Matt and Andy Ventresca and Nick and Thomas Benedetti.

Contributions in Mrs Turek’s memory may be made to the National Cancer Institute or Montgomery Evangelical Free Church, 246 Griggstown Road, Belle Mead, N.J.

A memorial service celebrating Mrs Turek’s life will be held Saturday, July 13, at 2 pm at Grace Christian Fellowship, Route 6, Newtown, (between Exits 8 and 9 off Interstate 84). Flower donations can be sent to Grace Christian Fellowship before services.
