Doski Captures Third Straight SWC Golf Title

Newtown High School golfer Abbey Doski won the South-West Conference girls’ golf championship for the third straight year. The Newtown junior shot an 80 in the championships, held at Orange Hills Country Club, in Orange, on May 24. Doski’s closest competitor shot an 84.

Doski, since there is no girls’ team at NHS, competes with the boys during the regular season. She shot a 43, as did teammate Brian LeBlanc, to help the Nighthawks to regular season-ending 177-200 win over Bethel at the par 35 Rock Ridge Country Club on May 25.

The Nighthawks earned two wins this week, as the Hawks also defeated Stratford, in a nail-biter, 186-187 at the par 36 Mill River Country Club on May 24. LeBlanc led the way with a team-low 41, and was followed by Christian Gregiore with a 43, Chris Erikson with a 48, and Sean Maher with a 54.
