Genealogy Talk: Researching Maiden Names

On Wednesday, December 14, the Genealogy Club of Newtown will host a presentation by Ray Maki titled “Searching for Maiden Names.”

The program will start at 7 pm in the community room of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street.

Mr Maki, who is one of the local genealogy club’s founding members, has been conducting family research for more than ten years. His presentation will explain and demonstrate nine specific techniques used in one of the most difficult aspects of genealogical research. Beginners and experienced researchers will learn new tips for identifying the maiden names of the women in their family tree.

The Genealogy Club of Newtown meets every month, September through June, in the community room of Newtown’s public library. Visitors and new members are always welcome.

For more information about this free program or about the club, call Harlan Jessup at 203-270-7887.
