Police said they charged two employees of Super Stop & Shop with sixth-degree larceny October 25 after an incident at the South Main Street supermarket.
Police said David Delia, 16, of 27 Button Shop Road, who was working as a cashier about 6 pm, did not scan all the merchandise which employee Michael Switser, 18, of 10 Loveland Drive, Sandy Hook, was buying at a check-out register.
Switser attempted to leave the store after paying only 79 cents for $35 worth of merchandise, police said. Both youths are scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court November 9 to answer the charges.
