Have you heard about feng shui, a Chinese esoteric discipline? Come learn how to make the home and workplace good for health, relationships, and prosperity. Master C.H. Ch’en, a native of Taiwan Province, will give a talk on “Feng Shui: The Living Landscape” on Monday, June 5, at 7:30 pm in the meeting room. The program is free, but space is limited so please sign up at the circulation desk or by calling the library at 426-4533.

Andrea Zimmermann and Roberta Jones, the daughters of the late Lois Zimmermann, invite you to view an exhibit of their mother’s artwork at the library from June 9 through June 20 during regular library hours. There will be a dessert and champagne punch reception on Sunday, June 11, from 2 to 4 pm that all are invited to attend. Lois was a professional artist for more than 30 years and created work in pastel, oil, watercolor, and acrylic.

The exhibit will be comprised of her prolific and diverse work, which includes portraiture, still-life, seascapes, abstract, miniatures, and sculpture.

The Booth Library Book Discussion Group will be discussing The Map of the World by Jane Hamilton on Thursday, June 15 at 7:30 pm in the Special Collections room on the third floor. New members are always welcome. You need not read the entire book to join the discussion.

We will be voting on books to be discussed for next year, so come give us some input on the books you’d like to read in the upcoming months.

The Flagpole Photographers will be holding their monthly meeting on Thursday, June 21, at 7:30 pm in the meeting room. This month’s topic will be a slide critique. The public is invited to attend.

Mark your calendars for the Summer Concert Series, which will be kicking off on Friday, June 23, with The Duane Reilley Trio. Concerts will begin at 7 pm. Bring a picnic basket and your lawn chairs, and spend an hour listening to music in the Booth back yard. Should it rain the concert will be moved inside the library. On Friday, July 14, The Jackson Pike Skifflers will be performing, and on Friday, August 18, Treblehook will be returning.

If you have any questions about any of these programs please give the library a call at 426-4533.
