Youth Cross Country Results

In the first Western Connecticut Conference meet of the season, held this past week, the Newtown Hawks girls’ and boys’ cross country teams both earned first place.

The girls were led by first-place finisher Riley Mulligan with teammate Laura Hornby close behind in second. Molly Begg was fourth, Julia Faxon fifth, Julia DiMartino sixth, Madeline Meier seventh, Clare Boyle ninth, and Megan Nahmias tenth. The girls earned an 18-47 victory over Scotts Ridge.

The boys’ team took the first six places for a 15-40 win. Tyler Dullinger led the way, followed by Reilly Rising, Jacob Stienebrey, Joel Duval, Ethan Burg, and Peter Fagerholm. Connor Mcnerney was eighth and Chris Grosso earned ninth place.
