A Sensible Solution

To the Editor:

Good for Ed Miklaszewski’s recommendation that there be a police officer directing traffic at the flagpole during rush hour [“Sandy Hook Resident Urges Flagpole Traffic Improvements,” 10/7/11]. At the very least this should be implemented. Who could be against such a sensible solution to a nagging (and getting worse) problem?

It will certainly help greatly at rush hour, but not solve the ongoing dilemma at this accident-prone intersection.

Traffic lights are needed. As I had pointed out is a letter a couple of years ago, I hope it doesn’t take a flaming car wreck for Newtown to come to this inevitable conclusion.
