NHS Student Organizes Toy Drive

Brianna Limebrook was given an assignment. Now she is looking for some help from the community to fulfill its completion.
The assignment, a Political Action Project, came from her American Government class. Brianna is a senior at Newtown High School and thought this would be a great project to organize and one that the Newtown community can also become involved with.
âI am a senior at NHS and I have organized a Holiday Toy Drive as part of my Political Action Project for my American Government class,â Brianna said. âI just thought it was something that really needed to be taken care of.â
All the toys will benefit disadvantaged children in the greater Danbury area through the organization Community Action Center of Danbury. New, unwrapped toys for children up to 12 years old are needed. People can drop off toy donations at several locations including the Newtown Stop and Shop, Grand Union, Town Hall lobby, and the Teacher Parent Store in Danbury.
Brianna picked the Toy Drive because the assignment calls for students to select something in the community that they think needs improving and make it happen, she said.
âNear the holidays we need to remember how lucky we all are,â Brianna said.
Donations will be accepted through December 15.
