Classic Cars Will Roll Into Ashlar

For 4th Annual Show & Sock Hop

Get ready for a blast from the past at Ashlar of Newtown’s Annual Antique Car Show and Sock Hop on Saturday, September 20, from 10 am to 2 pm.

Vintage cars such as Thunderbird convertibles, a 1963 white Chevy Nova SS, a 1951 tan Ford Victoria Hardtop, a 1957 red Ford Fairlaine Convertible, and a 1950 black Ford Crestliner Vintage are just some of the cars that will participate in the show. Old time tunes from the 50s spun by DJ Mark Edwards will add to the day’s atmosphere.

“This is the fourth year of the event and each year it gets bigger and better. It’s great to see grandparents describing to their grandkids their younger day adventures in the different cars displayed during the show,” says Peggy Loulis, Lockwood Lodge’s recreation aide and the primary organizer of the event.

Ms Loulis, an antique car aficionado, coordinates the event with The Classic Nights Car Club, a club she has been a member of for 15 years.

Prizes and trophies are awarded for different categories and the first 50 vehicles receive dash plaques.

Food and beverages will be available under the tent set up outside of Ashlar of Newtown. Admission to the event is free.
