Occupation: I own a horse barn and board horses. I am a yoga therapist and teach locally at several places and teach privately. I’m a Reiki master and do energy healing work with private clients. I’m also a nurse and work at a health and rehabilitation center in New Milford.

Family: My husband, Tim, and I have three children. Brian is 24 and lives in Seymour; Kerry is 20 and in college at Marist in New York; and Michael is 18 and goes to Naugatuck Community College.

Pets: Floyd and Lucky are both rescue dogs. We’ve had Lucky for about seven years and Floyd for one and a half years. We have two horses of our own, Baxter, a paint, and Bar, a quarter horse. We also have four cats floating around. Emma, Nighttrain, Scooter, and Spooky live in the barn.

How long have you lived in Newtown? We’ve been here for around ten years. We moved from Rockland County in New York.

What do you like to do in your free time? I ride my horses and I do yoga for myself. I like to read, and I like to garden. I make my own aromatherapy products — my kids call it my witch stuff.

Do you have a favorite book? I tend to read a lot of yoga books, but I just read Waiting For Autumn by Scott Blum. It was a really good book.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? We went to Europe two years ago as chaperones when my daughter won the national livestock judging as a student at Nonnewaug High School, and was competing there. We started in Scotland and went to England, France, Luxembourg, and then home from Germany. The whole thing was amazing. Edinburgh Castle in Scotland was unbelievable. We saw some of the farms and local people, too, which was really nice.

What is the best thing about Newtown? It’s so pretty. I grew up in Queens, so to me, it’s absolutely gorgeous here.

If you could spend a day with anyone, who would you choose? My family. Just for hanging out. It’s so nice when everybody is home.

Do you have a personal philosophy? Stay grounded, but follow your heart.

What is the craziest thing you have done? My husband wanted me to dye my hair, so I went out and bought purple hair spray and came down to dinner with purple hair. He didn’t think it was as funny as I did.
