PORT HURON MICH. -- A Valentine weekend auction on February 13-14 at the

Citadel Gallery drew a standing room crowd that sparred for the treasures for

auction.

Several Hummel plateaus saw active competition with results of $1,600 for a

Ring Around the Rosy #348, $625 each for School Boys #177, and Apple Tree Boy

#142. A button collection was sold by the card and brought $15 to $90 each.

Sunday was celebrated with a runway collection of designer clothing including

Vera Wang, Liancarlo Couture, San Carlin and others. The dresses were worn by

live models who displayed the creations through the audience.

Sterling silver realized $550-$1,200 for flatware, and $1,800 for a sterling

tea set. A Pairpoint ribbed Lilac table lamp sold for $12,000, and a Bradley

and Hubbard, $3,250. An Art Deco bronze plateau of a seated nude with a fawn

sold for $3,500, while a Maitland Smith flamed mahogany game table brought

$1,000.

Meeks Victorian parlor set saw a concluding bid of $13,000. Buyers battled for

an Art Deco five piece bedroom suite with hand painted floral motif to a

rousing $3,600, and a French turn of the century fireplace mantel finished at

$1,600. A signed Tiffany vase was popular with a final bid of $1,200, and a

Royal Crown Derby bird plateau, $1,300.

An interesting clock with open brass works under a glass dome mount featured

cupid on a swing pendulum. After spirited bidding the hammer fell at $550. An

alabaster mantel clock with a spelter lady and gentleman brought $325.

It was announced that the next sale on March 20-21 would feature nearly 300

Royal Doulton figurines including some very rare treasures, plus art work from
