‘RSVP: JIM LAMBIE’ AT MFA, BOSTON

AVV 2-14 #729096

BOSTON, MASS. — The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, presents the exhibition, “RSVP: Jim Lambie” through May 25.

Designed specifically for the MFA, an installation by contemporary artist Jim Lambie fills the museum’s first floor West Wing Galleria with a rhythmic and kaleidoscopic energy. Spanning 100 feet of what was once a white wall, the work combines arcs of black tape that evoke vinyl records, and seven sculptures created with multicolored chairs and hung with mirror-covered handbags. Lambie’s installation is part of the series RSVPmfa in which artists are invited to respond to, and work among, the collections, architecture and grounds of the MFA with creations that extend beyond the traditional gallery.

The museum is at 465 Huntington Avenue. For information, www.mfa.org or 617-267-9300.
