A Reminder To FFH Dog Walkers: Keep It Clean
A Reminder To FFH Dog Walkers: Keep It Clean
Pick up after your dog, or pay a fine, town officials warn.
Dogs must be leashed, and no solid waste should be left behind, according to ordinances regarding animals on town property.
âBeing that the weather is nicer,â the Fairfield Hills Authority suggested that Assistant Director of Recreation RoseAnn Reggiano again remind residents to help keep public grounds clean.
She sent out a notice that began: âAttention all Fairfield Hills visitors, dogs must be on a leash at all times! You must clean up after your dog.â
The notice âwelcomes you to the Fairfield Hills campus,â while at the same time reminding visitors that the town âstrives to maintain a safe and beautiful campus for everyoneâs use and enjoyment.
âWe appreciate your cooperation and understanding that this is for the safety and enjoyment of everyone visiting the Fairfield Hills campus.â
The Newtown Police Department will be enforcing the ordinance. The fines specified in the ordinance are as follows:
A first time offense is $49, a second offense $92, a third and subsequent offenses are $99.
Along Mile Hill South next to Glander Field is a trailhead leading into the campus and around to the cul-de-sac visible form Wasserman Way. At both points are stations that include baggies and trash bins so pet owners can remove their petsâ solid waste from the property, Ms Reggiano said.
The recreation department does not allow any animals on playing fields.
