A Boot Scootin’ BBQ

REDDING RIDGE — On Saturday, April 9, Christ Church Parish will play host to its annual dinner-dance fundraiser to benefit Christ Church charities. The event will begin at 6:30 pm.

This year’s event, called “Line Up To Give Back,” will kick it up with blue jeans, cowboy boots and western hats while guests feast on a buffet of barbequed pulled pork, baked beans, vegetarian chili, coleslaw, cornbread and lots of other country fare. As in years past, all the food will be prepared and donated by the Parish’s rather competitive parishioner chefs. 

A special feature this year will be the inclusion of music and dance instruction from James and Shelley Kellerman, of Just Two Much. They teach line dancing at the Cadillac Ranch among other places, and will be on hand to teach anyone interested to line up in true southern country line dance style. Partners are not needed for line dancing, just an enthusiasm for fun and following your neighbor’s lead.

Guests will also be able to peruse an array of silent auction items, theme baskets and pick-a-prize goodies, all donated by parishioners and the greater community.

Tickets are $40 per person, through Joey Davey at 203-938-0328. Paid reservations are required, due to menu and room capacity requirements. The event is for adults only.

Every dollar raised will support one of the Christ Church Mission programs. The parish supports over 20 charities annually, including Covenant To Care, Christ Church Cares, Fresh Air Fund, Redding Social Services, Doctors Without Borders and Heifer International.
