First round on Monday:

Cork N Barrel defeated Salon Michele 20-0 at Dickinson Park.

Fireside defeated Pub 25 10-9 at Fairfield Hills. Leading the offense for Fireside was Stacey Gordon (3-for-3), Ali Cordova (2-for-3), Shelby Rotunda, who slid into home with a two-run homer. The defense by Rotunda, Cordova, and Gordon was flawless with help from Lindsey Carley, Anne Doersch, and Jody Morris

My Place defeated Duhamel 16-8 at Treadwell Park. At the end of three innings, the game was close with My Place leading by two runs. Kathy Nowak reached first successfully all four times at bat and scored three runs. Diane Lawrence, Ruth Rowe, and Lisa Masella all went 3-for-4. Cindy Striele played an outstanding game at catcher and Kelly Terasewicz snagged many hits in short left centerfield.

Second Round on Tuesday:

Black Swan defeated My Place 16-7. Rachel and Jessica Nicolosi both went 3-for-4 with three and two runs scored, respectively, in the win. Joey Barry and Lisa Grossman each hit a triple and Barry had three runs batted in. Melissa Shepard hit a key homerun in the bottom of the first inning, driving in three. Rosie Jackman and Kelly Tenney went 3-for-3. Lisa Grossman had some outstanding catches in the outfield. A strong throw from Barry to catcher Carol Lafreniere helped prevent a run. Genevieve Echavarrici went 4-for-4 and scored three runs for My Place. Kelly Terasewicz hit a home run. Diane Lawrence, Ruth Rowe, and Cindy Striele scored as well. Lisa Masella went 3-for-4. Lynn Baylis pitched a consistent game with no walks.

Fireside defeated Cork N Barrel 5-1. It was a low scoring game due to great defense by both teams.  Fireside scored four runs in the first inning behind Stacey Gordon, Ali Cordova, Shelby Rotunda, Lindsey Carley, and Lynn McClintick-Bell, who was 2-for-2. Key hits by Bell and Rabiya Ansari-Johnston allowed Fireside to score one more run in the fifth inning. Anna Christopher pitched for the winning team and held C&B to only a first-inning run. With the help of amazing infield plays by Rotunda, Cordova, and Anne Doersch, and outfield snags by Gordon, Carley, and Melissa Eigen-Ansman, Fireside goes to the championship game for the fourth year in a row.
