Federal Booklets For Consumers

PUEBLO, COLO. — Everyone wants a secure financial future. Building that future starts with smart financial decisions and a little bit of planning.

The Federal Consumer Education Center is offering a new package of publications to help consumers get a handle on their finances. The “Money Matters” package includes a Consumer’s Almanac from the American Financial Services Association Education Foundation and the Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service of the US Department of Agriculture. The almanac discusses how to organize income and living expenses, manage credit, and how to meet future goals through saving and investing.

The almanac also includes an annual income, savings, and expense chart to help plan for the year ahead, and monthly calendar pages to help consumers control their monthly income and expenses.

The package includes an I Bonds Investors Guide and US Savings Bond Information from the US Department of Treasury. The guides explain why I Bonds and Series EE bonds are an easy way to start investing. Learn about the benefits of US savings bonds, how to purchase them, how to give them as gifts, and how to turn bonds in for cash.

There are three easy ways to get the $1.50 “Money Matters” package. Call toll-free 888/878-3256 weekdays, 9 am to 8 pm, and ask for the “Money Matters” package. Have a credit card handy. Or send your name, address, and a check or money order for $1.50 to Money Matters, Pueblo, CO 81990, or visit www.pueblo.gsa.gov and read or print these and hundreds of other FCIC publications for free.
