Mugs Of Hugs

By Julie Kalt

Head O’ Meadow School’s SCT (School Community Team) is collecting fairly new mugs that families don’t use. We are also collecting trial sized toiletries like shampoo, combs, perfume, cologne, toothpaste, bars of soap, and so on. SCT is collecting these products for the homeless shelter in Danbury. So far we have collected many mugs and many toiletries. Everyone hopes this project is successful. The collecting ends Tuesday, February 13.

Mrs Ruddock’s Departure

By Lauren A. Villodas

On February 2, 2001, I interviewed Susan Ruddock about her long-term substitution for Mrs Wutzl’s class.

Lauren: Have you enjoyed this substitution job?

Mrs Ruddock: It was challenging but rewarding.

Lauren: Is there a special attribute of one of the kids has that you will miss?

Mrs Ruddock: Morgan’s “Good Morning!”

Lauren: So, when was/is your last day substituting for Mrs Wutzl’s class?

Mrs Ruddock: Friday was my last full day substituting. On Monday and Tuesday I’ll be helping Mrs Wutzl get situated.

Lauren: The class you were subbing for had a party for your departure. What was it like?

Mrs Ruddock: Well, we had PE and watched the movie Dinosaurs with popcorn for a snack. It was like a pajama party.
