Fundraiser Scores A Touchdown
Fundraiser Scores A Touchdown
To the Editor:
On Saturday, July 14, freshman, sophomore, junior and senior football players, coaches and parents joined forces to win. The end result was an overwhelmingly successful fundraiser for the football team and the Newtown Touchdown Club. As with any successful event, a team effort was necessary. The Touchdown Club raised $4,500 by packaging a swimming pool product that is manufactured by Guardian Product Development of Newtown.
Many thanks to all the football payers, parents and coaches who arrived before 8 in the morning and worked non-stop until 2 in the afternoon. Their hard work, good spirits and great intentions certainly paid off. Additional thanks to the players who worked Friday setting up the cafeteria for Saturdayâs event.
A special thanks to the custodians at Newtown High School who readily helped with the overall set-up.
Thank you to Big Y for their donation and for their expedient, and delicious delivery of eight party pizzas that were devoured within fifteen minutes.
Last, but certainly not least, thank you to Dunkin Donuts who readily, again, donated dozens of donuts, coffee, milk, sugar, napkins, etc., which supplied much needed energy to kick off the fundraiser.
Sincerely,
Coach Ken Roberts and Staff
