Wintle & Eddison To Be Featured

At Book & Author Luncheon

DANBURY — A book and author luncheon to benefit the Quota International® Candlewood Valley chapter’s local community service projects will be held on Saturday, October 29, at 11 am, at the newly renovated Holiday Inn. Two outstanding authors, including a treasured Newtown resident, will be speaking about their most current books.

Edwin John Wintle, the local author of the extraordinary new book that has been earmarked for a movie, Breakfast With Tiffany, an uncle’s memoir, a Miramax Hyperion book, is a testament to the power of love, humor and commitment when attempting to raise responsible teenagers in this fast paced and chaotic world we live in. Mr Wintle’s book was featured and given four stars by People Magazine.

Sydney Eddison of Newtown, the author of many interesting and helpful books on planting and gardens, will be highlighting her latest book, Gardens to Go: Creating and Designing a Container Garden, a Time Warner book. This is a beautiful, colorful and informative table top book about the latest colorful, space saving and easy for everyone trend, year round container planting.

Each author will speak about their work and will be available to answer questions, and sign copies of their books. Copies of both titles will be on sale at the luncheon.

Tickets for this event are $25 each and include a hot buffet lunch with two entrees, time with the authors, book signing, raffles, a chance to learn more about Quota’s local service organization and projects and meet new and old friends in a friendly and warm atmosphere.

Quota International is an international service organization that has linked members of all ages, occupations and nationalities in a worldwide network of service and friendship since 1920. The Candlewood Valley chapter has been active since 1978 and services the greater Danbury Area.

With a motto of “we share,” Quotarians are known especially for their service to deaf, hearing impaired and speech-impaired individuals and disadvantaged women and children.

Members share the values of serving and encouraging others, developing friendships, and promoting international understanding. The Candlewood Valley chapter has dinner meetings the first Thursday of each month at Chuck’s Steakhouse in Danbury at 6 pm.
