Bone Marrow Screening In Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT — Swim Across the Sound, a program of St Vincent’s Medical Center, will hold a bone marrow screening in conjunction with the American Red Cross on Tuesday, June 29, from noon to 6 pm, in the medical center lobby.

Patients awaiting a bone marrow match include Vincent Lyles of Stratford, a father of two;  Joe Convertitio of Huntington, a retired Bridgeport police officer; Billy Wildman of Shelton, an engineering student; and Jerry Licursi of Trumbull, a grandfather.

The screening is quick and easy. It involves a finger stick for blood typing, watching a ten-minute video, and enrollment in the National Bone Marrow Registry. To make an appointment call 203-576-6158.
