Since then, the Lions have reeled off 10 straight wins and with a 57-56 overtime victory over New Fairfield on Tuesday afternoon have closed out the regular season at 11-1. Next week, the locals hope to cap their impressive campaign with a win at the annual Jockey Hollow Tournament.
In the win over New Fairfield, Josh Engler canned 22 points and dished off 14 assists while Matt Datin popped in 18 points. Sean Maher played tight, perimeter defense and added 10 points as the Lions overcame a fast and athletic opponent.
In a 59-35 win over Woodbury last week, Engler scored 13 points and hit 3-of-4 from the foul line. Datin and Ishan Tatake added nine points apiece while Rob Frangione and Rory Noonan balanced out the scoring with eight points each off the bench.
Austin Jones also had a strong floor game, scoring five points and playing aggressive defense in the paint.
