Get Your Passport To Sandy Hook

On Saturday, October 8, the Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity (SHOP) will be hosting the first annual Passport to Sandy Hook celebration. This free event will showcase all that Sandy Hook has to offer.

Experience our fine eateries, shops, and stores. Enjoy the music and live broadcast of I-95, sponsored by Newtown Savings Bank. Three local bands, Crystal Pyramid, the Screw Ups, and John Voket, will be performing. Visit Sandy Hook Fire & Rescue’s booth, where you can “stuff a truck” with nonperishable items to help the FAITH Food Pantry. Bring the kids to Betts Square at 107 Church Hill Road and let them enjoy the Bouncy House, sponsored by Pediatric Heart Specialists, Haas Insurance, and CT Counselors. And at all your stops, get your “Passport”’ stamped by each of our 25 participating merchants for a chance to win one of our great prizes.

First prize, donated by Newtown Savings Bank, is 14 tickets to view the Ringling Brothers Circus from their box seats at Harbor Yard. Second and Third prizes feature gift certificates from all of our participating merchants, as well as a fine picture donated by Colbert Studios, and more.

The combined value of the prize packages is close to $1,500. The event will run from 11 am to 4 pm and will be held rain or shine. Hope to see you there!
