McEvoy Will Be Next SCAN Guest

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will have Newtown artist Dick McEvoy painting a pastel landscape at its next meeting, scheduled for on Wednesday, September 14, at 7:30 pm.

This demonstration will take place in the lower meeting room at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street in Newtown.

The public is invited, and admission is free.

Dick McEvoy paints primarily impressionistic landscapes in pastel and oil. He is a Signature Artist Member of the Connecticut Pastel Society and of the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod. He is also the president of Connecticut Pastel Society.

Mr McEvoy’s paintings are in more than 150 private and corporate collections. He was featured in the August 2005 issue of The Pastel Journal, and his work will be included in the upcoming book Pure Color, Best in Pastel.

Mr McEvoy has exhibited at Audubon Artists, Pastel Society of America, Connecticut Pastel Society, Kent Art Association, Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod, and Ridgewood Art Association. He has been a consistent prizewinner at past SCAN juried exhibitions.
