Laying Corky To Rest

To the Editor:

I would like to thank all of my wonderful friends and neighbors who offered their support and condolences to me at the passing of my beloved equine friend Corky. Corky had been stricken early last week and succumbed to complications from Cushing’s disease this past Friday.

Corky came to Newtown 10 years ago when I adopted him from the terrific organization HORSE of Connecticut run by Patty Wahlers. We had participated in the Frost on the Pumpkin Hunter Pace and enjoyed many leisurely trots around trails in Newtown.

My family will for some time feel the void left by his passing but have taken great comfort in the support of our neighbors, the Grahams, Torrances, Mayers, and especially DJ, who so sensitively laid Corky to rest.
