Deadline Near For Federal Flood Disaster Assistance  

Town Emergency Management Director Bill Halstead reminds residents that people who sustained losses or damages during the heavy rains and flooding that occurred between April 15 and 27 may be eligible for federal assistance.

The deadline to apply for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is Monday, August 13.

For information on the federal assistance program, affected persons should call FEMA at 800-621-3362. For the speech-impaired and hearing-impaired, call TTY 1-800-462-7585.

On the Internet, the FEMA address is www.fema.gov.

People who contact FEMA are asked to have the following information available: social security number of self and spouse; private insurance information, if applicable; address and zip code of the damaged property; a list of damages and losses suffered; directions to the damaged home or property; and a daytime telephone number.
