Maintaining Jewish

 Identity In The NFL

Former NFL offensive lineman (1986–1992) and member of the 1992 Super Bowl champs, the Dallas Cowboys, Alan Veingrad will address the northwest Connecticut community on how he, as the only Jew on his team, vigorously maintained his Jewish identity and pride in the wake of both “good-natured ribbing” and overt proselytizing. Mr Veingrad will deliver his message of “faith and sports” at three different programs. Mr Veingrad’s appearances are being sponsored by Chabad Lubavitch of Northwest Connecticut.

The events are open to all, but space is very limited, so early reservations are requested.

Donation is $25 for adults; $20 for seniors and $14 for children ages 5–12. There is a special family rate of $65. Reservations can be made online at chabadNW.org/NFL or by calling 800-297-6864.

The first two presentations, a Friday night dinner and a Saturday lunch. will take place July 21 and 22 at Liorah Greenberg/Litchfield County JCC, 770 Village Green Drive in Litchfield. The third program will be a breakfast event at the Dolce Heritage in Southbury on Sunday, July 23, beginning at 10 am.

The monthly guest speaker series is sponsored by the Yisroel Fund, and is a project of Chabad Lubavitch of Northwest Connecticut, one of the world’s largest and fastest growing network of educational and social service centers.
