New Administrator

At Homesteads

Kerry Cardinal has been named administrator of The Homesteads at Newtown Assisted Living and Memory Care Community. Previously he was the resident services coordinator responsible for designing and implementing the in-house activity programs for residents, planning the many trips taken weekly, coordinating all of the volunteers plus overseeing all of the core services that are provided to residents. He has worked with senior citizens for the past 15 years.

Mr Cardinal has been at The Homesteads since it opened in 2001. He has a bachelor of science degree in recreation and leisure studies from Southern Connecticut State University. He resides in Woodbury with his wife Kelly and their two children, Amber and Evan.

His hobbies include hunting, fishing, running, and making maple syrup. He has run in the New York City Marathon

Lyn Hannon will be replacing Mr Cardinal as life engagement coordinator. Her background includes serving as the regional program coordinator for the Alzheimer’s Association of Connecticut, a therapeutic recreation director in assisted living, theater management, summer stock theater, and talent representative.
