Parents Invited To Ecumenical Vacation Church School
Parents Invited To Ecumenical
Vacation Church School
The parents of students who are enrolled in Newtownâs Ecumenical Vacation Church School are invited to attend the new âDialogue and Donutsâ adult education series held each morning July 22-26.
Each morning the clergy from one of the participating churches will lead the children in opening worship. Afterwards, from 9:30 to 10:30 am, the clergy will lead an ecumenical discussion group for adults about their faith and the ways in which they praise and serve Christ and the community.
The talks are open to the public. They will begin on Monday with the Rev Robert Weiss of St Rose of Lima Church, the site of this yearâs Vacation Church School.
Tuesdayâs dialogue will be led by the Rev Terry Pfeiffer of Newtown United Methodist Church. He will be followed on Wednesday by the Rev Janice Touloukian, associate minister at Newtown Congregational Church; Thursday, the Rev Gregory Wismar of Christ the King Lutheran Church, and Friday, the Rev Kathy Adams-Shepherd of Trinity Episcopal Church.
It is the hope of the organizers to encourage unity by promoting the understanding of each otherâs faith.
