Dante DiCamillo
Dante DiCamillo, age 77, formerly of Cheshire and Derby, died on September 7, at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Home, Stratford.
Mr DiCamillo was born in Redding, on December 12, 1925, son of the late Paul and Mary Guradiani DiCamillo. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy Edo DiCamillo.
His stepdaughter, Donna Edo Geraci and her husband, Richard; stepson, Martin Edo and his wife, Marianne, survive him. He also leaves two brothers, Eugene (Chick) DiCamillo of Winnetka, Calif., and Elio (Al) DiCamillo of Shelton; two sisters, Ann Krane of Newtown and Lorraine Maturo of Orange; four step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph DiCamillo.
Dante was a veteran of World War II and served in the US Air Force. He received the Bronze Star for meritorious service with the 331 Bombardment Group in the Pacific Theater. Following 39 years of service, he retired from the United States Postal Service, where he served as superintendent of postal operations in the Derby Post Office.
Calling hours were scheduled Thursday, September 11, from 4 to 7 pm in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. Leaving the funeral home on Friday, September 12, at 10:30 am, a Mass of Christian Burial was planned for 11 am in St Joseph Church, Shelton. Burial with full military honors will follow in Mt St Peter Cemetery, Derby.
